ABOUT THE ARTICLE: Does inflation fall when the economy is weak and rise when the economy is strong?

In this article, we examine the phenomenon of whether or not inflation decreases in Zambia when the economy is weak using data from World bank based on the period from 1986 to 2021. In particular, the ultimate goal of this investigation is to test the Phillips curve hypothesis in Zambia in order to determine the contemporaneous relationship between inflation and unemployment in Zambia. As such, discussions in this article may have important implications on economic policy engineered by government.
